Eid-ul-Fitr...

A friend said yesterday, the older we are the less excitement 'raya' is... (not the exact sentence of course)... which i couldn't agree more....

When I was a kid, raya was.... a must for new baju raya (at least one pair of baju kurung and 2 others), kasut raya...

When I was a kid, raya was... the time for bunga api... which I stopped playing when I once successfully made a hole on my new baju raya.... after that bunga api was a little scary to me....

When I was a kid, raya was... the time for duit raya collection... it was never tiring to recount and recount the amount... again and again... comparing with one another...

When I was a kid, raya was... time to have lots and lots of carbonated drinks... my grandfather used to buy many bottles of that... sarsi, oren, 7up..... but again, that was the only time to have them... it is not a day drink... like what we have now...

That was all about raya at younger age....

And now, raya come and go without the fun it used to be.... It is now more of making the preparations for food, duit raya, curtains etc... kasut raya is no longer a must, although a pair of baju raya is still there to fulfil the sunnah of wearing new clothes on the morn on eid-ul-fitr....

So, as time past and as we grow older... raya is more of giving rather then getting... and that's the nature of life...

In a week, eid-ul-fitr will be here again, InsyaAllah... In the meantime, it is to complete Ramadhan, seeking for Lailatul Qadar...

P/S: it was nice to break fast with Dough Vinci and Alien yesterday...!!!
