The two-week trip....

Watching Gulliver's Travel last Friday plus being reminded again and again of the two-week trip...

It is already more than a year.... the two-week trip to Germany.... Hildesheim to be exact...
The trip for work... while with my previous company... there was a joke there that says once you got a chance for business trip, you are then qualify to resign.... that was what I did...!!!!
Just to prove them right!!!

When I was told that I was required to go there, I was initially excited.... then I learnt that I will be traveling alone... and there the worries started... and so the net traveling started... finding more about the place I'll be going... asking around from those who have been there... what to bring... how to travel around....

Then the journey started... the flights.... penang - singapore - frankfurt - hanover......All in all including the transits it took 24 hours to reach the hotel from bayan lepas airport....

When I landed in frankfurt, I actually cried.... part of me glad that I finally landed in germany, part of me sad for being there alone.... who am I to talk to??... hey, it was the first time I'm at that side of the world.. don't I deserve some company to be excited about???...

Hildesheim is around 40 minutes drive from hanover airport... i actually saw some rabbits hopping around at the airport, while the plane is landing..... and it was cool... at that time, it was supposed the summer time... but I guess the summer that year started a bit late.... ;)

This was where I stayed... Burgermeisterkapelle....Translated as 'the mayor chapel' if i'm not mistaken... A small family-business hotel... with small, limited rooms at reasonable price....50 euro per nite... equivalent to around rm250 at that time.... the rate is better now, I think... It was run by a couple, the wife at the front desk and the husband was the chef... they are friendly but our conversation was limited due to language barrier... I remember their 6-years old son asking whether I speak Deutsch... and he doesn't speak English... and so, the end...

They have all the nice tv series.... csi, grey's anatomy etc... except that everything is in germany, translated... nothing in english with subtitles... left me with no choice to watch... CNN channel... anyway, at that time it was the bird flu outbreak... maybe CNN is just the right channel to watch...!!!

Enough I think... before everyone gets bored....
